New Updated Genset AIRSEP Kit |
Download the PDF of this article |
10/12/2007 - Walker's newly updated AIRSEP kit for diesel gensets or small auxilary engines is a great value... priced for under $ 500.00 |
This tried and true Walker AIRSEP® has been updated for adapting to your marine genset
The innovative diesel closed-crankcase breathing system that has impressed boat owners over the past years, is now available for your onboard genset.
The new Walker AIRSEP® Genset breather is a smaller version of the time-proven Walker AIRSEP Closed-crankcase breathing System that is now standard equipment on most major makes of marine diesel engines.
The Walker AIRSEP has handsomely proven its ability to eliminate diesel blowby in the engine room...keeping it immaculately clean, reduce oil consumption, eliminate noxious fumes, maintain engine performance, improve engine air filtration, and help reduce or eliminate oil seal leaks.
The smaller Genset model gives you all these benefits, plus it helps reduce the air-intake noise long associated with most genset systems. Elimination of the fumes is the most popular compliment for this kit, since most boatowners are at anchor when running the genset.
The unit is designed for use on Onan, Westerbeke, KiloPak, Northern Lights, and other popular genset packages. The new breather can also be retrofitted on small 4-cylinder marine propulsion diesel engines with air consumption up to 350 CFMs.
The universal retrofit kit (suggested retail about $495) is available at your local dealer or from www.westmarine.com.
INSTALLATION NOTE: While this AIRSEP kit is specifically designed for flexibility to work on most marine gensets on the market today. The kit includes all parts required for basic installation, however, some additional fittings and hoses may be required to be obtained locally to complete the installation on your particular genset. These parts, brackets or adapters will need to be purchased at additional cost.
